The ride was started years ago by Bill Cason. Due to his work and the efforts of Jim Dunn and a lot of people that worked with them, there are Trail of Tears routes that have been recognized and marked, markers have been placed at historic sites, a lot of people have been educated about the Trail of Tears, scholarships have been provided to Native American youth, and thousands of bikers have supported and enjoyed the ride from Chattanooga, TN to Oklahoma. We do not expect to accomplish as much or do as well as the original group, however, we do want to continue the tradition they started. We desperately need the support of all the Trail of Tears riders from the past and new riders for the future.
